Seven Charged in $50 Million Dollar Fraud Case

Seven peole , including two Margate firefighters and a Ventnor police officer, were charged in connection with ongoing compounding medication fraud case. A federal grand jury has returned a 50-count indictment charging them with defrauding state health benefits programs and others insurers out of more than $50 million dollars by submitting fraudulent claims for medically unneecessary prescriptions. Since August of 2017, 30 people have been charged in the scheme.
