Judge Cites ‘Good Samaritan Act In North Wildwood Suit

What’s called the Good Samaritan Act has been cited by a judge who dismissed a suit against North Wildwood by a person who was injured during a water rescue. According to the Cape May County Herald, the Good Samaritan Act has historically been interpreted by the New Jersey courts as only applying to individuals who render aid to a victim at the scene of an accident or emergency who do not otherwise have a preexisting duty do so.
