Five years behind bars for 21 year old John Stevens of Atlantic City for unlawfully possessing a handgun.
On January 10, 2023, Stevens and a co-defendant, Carlos Garcia-Perez, were stopped in the
area of 1500 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City by plainclothes detectives from the Atlantic City
Police Department. Both men were found to be in possession of a concealed handgun on their
respective persons. Stevens did not possess a permit for the firearm, which was determined to
be a 9mm Taurus G2C handgun. Garcia-Perez’s case is still pending.
