A COVID-era rule in Atlantic City allowing open containers of alcohol within the city’s Tourism District may stick around. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution reaffirming a 2020 vote allowing licensed bars and restaurants to sell to-go drinks in plastic cups. While some communities have returned to the old rules for open containers, meaning no strolling with a drink, Atlantic City Council in June certified the open container rules in an ordinance.
