U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-2nd, is considering a run for U.S. Senate next year as Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., fights another round of criminal charges. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Van Drew says while it would be overwhelmingly difficult for a Republican to win a U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey, where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 2.5 million to 1.5 million, it wouldn’t be impossible. He called it a unique opportunity for a conservative Republican to win statewide.
