Brigantine City Council has adopted an overhaul of its rules for short term rental properties. The Press of Atlantic City reports the measure includes an increased licensing fee of $150 per advertised bedroom and a 1.25% digital lodging tax per online booking. Other changes include posting names and contact information for each property’s owner, rental agent or manager, as well as phone numbers for the police and fire departments, maximum occupancy numbers and a hard copy of or a QR code linking to the ordinance in a prominent location within the property. The city is set to spend $560,000 on increased staffing and enforcement tools as a result of the overhaul.
