According to the Press of Atlantic City a $33.7 million contract has been awarded to replenish dunes at multiple points between Ocean City and Sea Isle City. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company of Oak Brook, Illinois, will perform the work, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District said Thursday.The contract calls for the company to dredge more than 1.3 million cubic yards of sand from two borrow areas. One site is off Corsons Inlet, and the other is about three miles off Sea Isle, the Army Corps said in a news release.
