U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew said Thursday he will support Jim Jordan, the 59-year-old Ohio lawmaker who is chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, for House speaker. Van Drew serves with Jordan on the Judiciary Committee and is a founding member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. The Press of Atlantic City reports Van Drew said, “Both Steve Scalise and Jim are good candidates, but I feel Jim will focus and unify most of the eight outliers,” in a text response to questions.
