AC Man Faces Huge Water Bill, Gets Chance To Appeal

An Atlantic City man is facing a huge water bill, accused by the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority of tampering with his service. Crews determined that a jumper, which allowed water to flow but no charges to be generated, had been placed on the line and Michael Camarota got billed $200 dollars a day for a period of six years, $442,000 total. The Press of Atlantic City reports Camarota will have a chance to plead his case to the ACMUA board Nov. 17, Ward said, where the board will also present the evidence against him. He said the lack of a meter must have been an oversight by authority workers when they hooked his house up to the utility again in 2017, following Super Storm Sandy.
