Judge Sequesters Mail In Ballots Of AC Couple Following Complaint

A judge on Tuesday temporarily sequestered the mail-in and provisional votes of a couple who say a ballot bearer forced them to vote for candidates they didn’t support on their vote-by-mail ballots. According to the Press of Atlantic City, the votes must be sequestered until a hearing is held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 14 by Atlantic County Assignment Judge Michael Blee to decide which votes will count. Sujan K. Das and Surupa Datta, who live in Atlantic City’s 5th Ward, sued Monday to have their vote-by-mail ballots thrown out and to have their provisional votes cast at an early polling site counted instead.
