In Atlantic City the union for the city’s firefighters isn’t liking planned state-imposed reductions in supervisory roles, reallocations of resources and brownouts of the engine company in the Inlet, union president John Varallo said Tuesday. Varallo, the Atlantic City Professional Fire Fighters Local 198 president, said the city and state have decided to permanently fill 11 supervisory positions rather than the expected 13-15.
