The Cape May County Zoo will be closed Saturday as staff mourn veterinarian and Assistant Director Dr. Alexander Ernst, who died Friday. Ernst, of the Erma section of Lower Township, was 45, reports the Press of Atlantic City. A cause of death has not been disclosed. Ernst received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, according to his obituary.
