AC City Council Wants City Control Over Tourism District

Atlantic City City Council unanimously passed a resolution last week calling for the city to regain control over planning and zoning for the resort’s Tourism District, which covers the casino and commercial areas of the resort, reports the Press of Atlantic City. The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has controlled planning and development in the Tourism District since it was created by state law in 2011. Currently applicants must apply to both the CRDA and city for approvals.
