Atlantic City police officer, 37 year old LaQuay DuBose, is charged with third-degree
theft for allegedly spending a large sum of money that was accidentally deposited into
his checking account. On March 21, 2023, bank employees inadvertently deposited a check in the amount of
$100,000 into Dubose’s checking account. On March 27, 2023, bank personnel
realized the error, withdrew the money, and closed Dubose’s account. During that time
period, it is alleged that Dubose spent over $35,000 of the money resulting in this
account being overdrawn by $35,903.17.
