Brigantine is taking steps to see what it can do to address the significant amount of beach erosion happening at The Cove.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, the area has lost more than 900 feet of beach, causing concern about potential damage to homes and city infrastructure in that area, leaving limited space for vehicles on the beach, and the police may need to restrict access from time to time due to overcrowding. The last beach project at The Cove was the dredging of St. George’s Thorofare in August 2022 by the state Department of Transportation.
