According to the Press of Atlantic City a former corrections officer who refused to break up two fights at Bayside State Prison nearly five years ago admitted to depriving the inmates of their civil rights, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.Joshua Hand, 34, of Millville, pleaded guilty in federal court before U.S. District Court Judge Karen M. Williams.Hand was working as a corrections officer at Bayside State Prison in Maurice River Township on Dec. 5, 2019, when he asked an inmate to come into the officers’ quarters near the prison kitchen.
