A Mullica Township man Marcelino Cruz, 34, on parole as a registered sex offender, who engaged in sex with a teenager, was convicted Wednesday, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said.Cruz was found guilty of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of child sexual abuse material.The investigation of the most recent assault, which occurred in August 2022, began when the 13-year-old’s mother uncovered “disturbing electronic communications” with Cruz on the child’s phone, the Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release.
