In Wildwood a long-term problem on the back bay may finally be moving toward resolution, with the approval of measures to begin the closure of a former landfill on Susquehanna Avenue. Commissioner Krista Fitzsimons described it as a historic step at the Wednesday commissioners meeting, allowing public access to what is now a barren and overgrown stretch along the bay. But Mayor Ernie Troiano, who voted to move forward with the work, complained that the project is for the birds.
