Wildwood Crest Planning Board OK’s Beachfront Hotel

A proposal for an upscale hotel on the Wildwood Crest beachfront, which has faced fierce resistance from other local motel owners and community members, was approved by the borough’s Planning Board following an almost five-hour hearing Tuesday. The Cape May County Herald reports The Mahalo Resort was greenlighted by a 5-2 majority of the Wildwood Crest Planning Board just before 10 p.m. The project has faced lawsuits, been subjected to three separate Planning Board hearings, and faced an objection campaign spearheaded by its Rosemary Road neighbor, the Compass Family Resort.
