30 year old Vincent Oglesby of Woodbine was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury for first-degree murder
and associated weapons offenses in regard to the murder of Richard Vincent O’Brien, III
occurring on January 1, 2024, in Atlantic City, N.J. The defendant remains lodged in the
Atlantic County Justice Facility pending trial.
On January 1, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., Atlantic City Police responded to a 911
call regarding a male bleeding in the unit block of S. California Avenue. The male, later
identified as O’Brien, 50, was transported to the Atlantic City Regional Medical Center
where he succumbed to his wounds. It is alleged that Oglesby stabbed the victim in the
neck area, with the injury ultimately leading to his death.
