The flamingos have already been relocated to the Bronx Zoo and now the entire bird habitat at the Cape May County Zoo is being shutu down.Opened in 1998, the World of Birds building once housed up to 80 birds, including about 30 different species, in two vestibules and a large atrium, with a walkway running through where visitors could see the birds without glass or bars between them, as well as in displays along the outside of the building. A county spokesperson says the upkeep became too expensive.
