Two local shore protection groups are challenging the legality of two recently awarded contracts for future wind energy projects in the state. The Press of Atlantic City reports Defend Brigantine Beach & Downbeach and Protect Our Coast New Jersey filed motions Tuesday against the state Board of Board of Public Utilities for its awarding of contracts to Attentive Energy LLC and Leading Light Wind LLC. The groups say besides the cost to residents, the rate impacts to commercial and industrial users will be severe, up to 25% and 30%, respectively.
