A New Jersey National Guard recruiter is in the Atlantic County lock up, accused of sexually assaulting a teen nearly two years ago. The Press of Atlantic City reports 44 year old Shawn C. Nguyen of Egg Harbor Township, is charged with two counts of sexual assault, criminal sexual contact, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct.
Nguyen’s arrest came following an investigation that started in June 2022, when police responded to the Wawa at 4262 Black Horse Pike in reference to a 16-year-old girl in distress. Investigators determined Nguyen used his official position with the National Guard to carry out the assault.
