Water rescues, CPR administered to patients in cardiac arrest, EMTs, lifeguards and more first responders were honored in Ocean City for their lifesaving work in a ceremony Wednesday, during which family members stood by the people officials described as heroes.It was the first event of its kind, one Mayor Jay Gillian and the chiefs of the emergency services expect to take place each year.
