Former Atlantic County Executive Richard E. Squires, 92, died Tuesday morning, according to a county spokesperson.His political career spanned more than 20 years, first as an elected county freeholder (a position now referred to as a county commissioner), a position to which he was elected in 1975, and reelection four years later.In 1984, he was elected as Atlantic County executive, a position he would hold for the next 16 years.
