Atlantic County Correctional Officer Charged With Contraband Counts

Atlantic County Correctional Officer Christopher Piccioni, 33, from Swedesboro is charged with Official
Misconduct, Conspiracy to Commit Official Misconduct, Tampering with Evidence, and Providing an Inmate Other
Contraband. Two other individuals, a female named Qydreia Smith, 40, from Mays Landing, NJ
and a male named Dion Robinson, 39, from Egg Harbor Twp., NJ were also charged with
Second-Degree Conspiracy to Commit Official Misconduct.
During the month of January of 2024, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office received
intelligence about contraband being smuggled into the Atlantic County Justice Facility in Mays
Landing. During a four-month investigation Piccioni was identified as a suspect. Piccioni was
found to have conspired with Smith as well as Robinson, an inmate in the facility, to smuggle
contraband into the facility on multiple occasions in return for payment. Piccioni was also found
to have tampered with evidence during the investigation.
