Government entities in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties were among 17 throughout the state to receive a total of $6.5 million in funding for community improvement projects through the Department of Community Affairs’ Small Cities Community Development Block Grant program. Deerfield Township, Downe Township, Fairfield Township, Hopewell Township and Upper Deerfield Township in Cumberland County and Middle Township in Cape May County each received $200,000 to rehabilitate 12 low-income housing units.
