Atlantic City Police investigated a shooting incident resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
On July 4, 2024, 9:55 PM, patrol officers responded to a report of large fight in the 1000 block of Sewell Avenue. As officers were arriving, they were alerted that a man had been shot. The shooting victim, 24, of New York, was treated for his injuries on scene by officers and transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life-threatening injuries.
On July 25, detectives filed criminal charges against 19 year old Charles Summers of Atlantic City for his role in the shooting. Summers was arrested the same day by Detective Aaron Jones in the first block of south Florida Avenue.
