Authorities Say Fireworks Caused Wharton State Forest Fire

Authorities now say fireworks have been identified as the spark that ignited the 4,000-acre fire in Wharton State Forest.
State Forest Fire Service crews worked Sunday to monitor and improve containment lines of the blaze, reports the Press of Atlantic City. As of late Sunday morning, the so-called Tea Time Hill Wildfire was 90% contained, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said. No structures are threatened by the fire. A fireworks device lit in the forest ignited the fire late Thursday and the Apple Pie Hill Fire Tower discovered the fire shortly after 9 a.m. on Friday.
