A big dog-sized loophole to a rule against pets on the Boardwalk is closing this summer with the unanimous approval of a recent ordinance amendment.Dogs and other pets have been banned from the Boardwalk for years, but the placement of the city’s dog park on the beach between Glenwood and Maple avenues meant people and their dogs needed to use the Boardwalk to access the park and the dog-friendly beach, where the canines can get in the ocean. According to the Press of Atlantic City recent work has opened a walkway under the Boardwalk at the street ends closest to the dog park, allowing access to the area without going over the Boardwalk.
