Groundhog In Estell Manor Tests Positive for Rabies

A groundhog that confronted a family dog Friday at a home on Cumberland Avenue in Estell Manor tested positive for rabies, marking the fourth case in the county this year, reports the Press of Atlantic City. Two people who may have been exposed to the virus are receiving post-exposure treatment while the dog received a rabies booster vaccination.
The virus had previously been confirmed in two raccoons found in Egg Harbor Township and a cat in Pleasantville.
