Another $22 million will be spent to improve the century-old flood control canal that runs under city streets and can hold more than 1.1 million cubic feet of stormwater, according to the Press of Atlantic City. The Baltic Avenue Canal runs from Atlantis Avenue and Beach Thorofare near the Atlantic City Expressway to Fisherman’s Park near Gardner’s Basin, with pumping stations at each end.
