Police were called to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City on Thursday afternoon for what turned out to be an unfounded threat. NJ.com reports at 3:55 PM, Atlantic City Police Department received a call from an unidentified man who claimed he was inside the building and was in possession of guns and an explosive device, the department said in a release. Officers responded to the scene, and along with Borgata security, conducted a sweep of the building, police said.
They did not find any suspicious persons or devices, but during the search, out of an abundance of caution, portions of the building were briefly evacuated.
