The National Park Service has awarded a $750,000 America’s Treasures Grant to the Absecon Lighthouse for restoration work.“This is a huge step forward toward restoring the Absecon Lighthouse,” said Jean Muchanic, executive director of the Inlet Public/Private Association, which manages the lighthouse as an educational venue and tourist attraction. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection owns the Absecon Lighthouse and leases it to the association.
