A swim club may be coming to Somers Point after council voted unanimously last week to approve its business license. “This Paddle Club has been discussed over the last two years,” Councilman Sean T. McGuigan said. “I look forward to it being built and look forward to a new asset to the community that our citizens will have an opportunity to enjoy.” According to the Press of Atlantic City in May 2022, City Council approved a redevelopment agreement with Scarborough Properties to construct the private swim club on 6.2 acres between Bay and Pleasant avenues, on the site of the former Bubba Mac Shack.
