Authorities in Cape May County said they responded twice over the weekend to the same borough for two “swatting” incidents, one falsely claiming a murder had been committed, the other stating a bomb had been planted in a hotel. NJ.com reports the Cape May County Joint Dispatch Center received the first call at 10:17 a.m. on Saturday reporting a bomb inside at a hotel in Avalon. At 4:22 p.m. on Sunday, the county dispatch center received a call from a person alleging a murder had taken place inside a home in the 7700 block of Dune Drive in Avalon, officials said.
