The Atlantic City Police Department is investigating allegations of a vehicle that was deemed to be suspicious by a member of the community that has been shared on social media.
On Tuesday, patrol officers responded to a report from a caller who stated she believed a man was attempting to lure a juvenile into his vehicle. The officers initiated an investigation which was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Section. No juveniles or their parents have come forward to speak with police alleging any type of criminal act.
Wednesday, the driver of the vehicle was identified. He contacted detectives after learning about the social media posts and agreed to be interviewed. At this time, there are no criminal charges to be filed.
There were also additional reports of possible interactions reported on social media with this driver that were found to be false and did not occur.
