Atlantic city has seen a 28% increase in arrests this year compared to the same period last year, police Chief James Sarkos said Friday. According to the Press of Atlantic City Sarkos reported during the city’s Clean and Safe meeting that the department has made 3,487 arrests so far this year, including 217 within the past week. “Everything is working remarkably well,” Sarkos said. There had been 86,901 calls year to date with 6,075 in the past week, he said.
