In Longport, incumbent Daniel Lawler and two others will run unopposed for three seats on the borough’s Board of Commissioners. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Lawler, 61, is running with longtime residents Jim Ulmer, 59, and Patrick Armstrong, 52, under the “We Love Longport” slogan. Mayor Nick Russo, who has been in office for 16 years, the third-longest term in the borough’s history, and Commissioner Jim Leeds, who has held his role for the same amount of time, decided not to seek reelection.
