Former State Police Trooper Gets Probation In Aggravated Assault Case

A former State Police trooper who admitted punching a woman in the face while she was handcuffed in his vehicle in Upper Deerfield Township two years ago was sentenced Sept. 30 to two years of probation. According to the Press of Atlantic City, 28 year old Nicolas J. Hogan of Gibbstown pleaded guilty July 25 to aggravated assault. Hogan also is banned for life from holding public office and public employment. He was terminated by State Police last month after spending nearly a year on paid leave.
