Mercury Samples

In Upper Township, State officials are investigating a potential tampering of samples that led to high levels of mercury being detected in some wells in the township.“Someone with access to the initial samples is believed to have knowingly tampered with those samples that resulted in high mercury readings,” Shawn LaTourette, commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, said during a meeting Monday night. “To be clear, the actions are shameful. … It is downright inexcusable.”
