Ocean City Police Station

Ocean City City Council has unanimously approved a contract worth just over $6 million for construction of a new police substation near the Boardwalk, but questions followed about a possible alternative. According to the Press of Atlantic City the new police building is planned for a city-owned parking lot on Eighth Street, and is expected to be in use during a larger project to renovate the city’s public safety building at 835 Central Ave. Police officials have said the department’s size and workload greatly expand each summer, and the new building will eventually be the hub for the summer operations, including the department’s summer officers.
