A bill sponsored by state Sen. Vince Polistina to permanently allow restaurants and alcoholic beverage retailers to use outdoor spaces and public sidewalks – as they did during the COVID-19 pandemic – passed the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee on Monday. “In the years since COVID, businesses have benefitted immensely from the use of outdoor spaces and the public has come to appreciate those expanded options,” Polistina said in a statement.
