A forest fire in an uninhabited section of woods near Peach Orchard Road is contained but continues to burn underground, the Seaville Volunteer Fire Company said Monday afternoon. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service had been on the scene all day with Seaville firefighters supplying water the fire company said. The Forest Fire Service plans to monitor the scene for the next several days.
