State supervision of Atlantic City will continue for at least the next year. The Press of Atlantic City reports both state and local officials say there is still more work to be done to get the city’s finances in order.
During a meeting Sept. 11, the state Local Finance Board approved the continuation of supervision of the city under the state Supervision Act, which lays out particular financial controls that are not available under the Municipal Stabilization and Recovery Act, the 2016 law that initiated the state takeover of Atlantic City, which is set to lapse in 2025.
