Harsher penalities for home break-in criminals. The announcement comes nearly a month after Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Sgt. Monica Mosley, 51, was shot and killed during a home invasion in Bridgeton.A home invasion burglary will be a first-degree offense subject to the No Early Release Act. Those convicted could face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $200,000, according to the law, which was signed by Gov. Phil Murphy last month.A residential burglary will be a second-degree offense, and offenders could face five to 10 years in prison, the law states.
