Last week, 31 year old Anthony M. Spina of Atlantic City was indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury charging him with Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief and Criminal Mischief. It is alleged that on multiple occasions between June 1, 2023 and September 1, 2023, that Spina agreed with another known individual to fly drones, otherwise known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAVs, and drop dye packs into commercial and residential swimming pools, causing the water to turn a greenish/yellow color, alarming property owners and causing damage in an amount of $2,000.00 or more to remediate.
Using tracking software, the drone flights were attributed to Spina and his co-conspirator,
resulting in at least one drone and multiple digital devices being seized, implicating Spina in the
scheme; and resulting in his arrest.
