Atlantic City received more than $1 million in state grants this week to increase pedestrian safety and access to public transportation.According to the Press of Atlantic City four other Atlantic County municipalities – Absecon, Longport, Pleasantville and Somers Point – also received grants to aid in their pedestrian and public transit efforts.In Atlantic City, the grants came from two sources, the first being the state’s $11.7 million Transit Village program, for which the city received $568,000 for a pedestrian safety walkway to the Atlantic City Rail Station. Pleasantville received a $170,000 grant for improvements to its bus pavilion and Park and Ride project.
