A proposal for a large-scale hotel resort on the Boardwalk at the site of the former Gillian’s Wonderland has captured the city’s attention over the past two months, but the city has multiple other large-scale projects in the works.They include a multimillion-dollar new building for the municipal airport, millions more to be spent on a new police substation and extensive improvements to the public safety building, and a new building for the Bayside Center, where city officials have described the current structure as obsolete.
