Atlantic City Police investigated a shots fired incident resulting in the arrest of the suspect.
On November 30, at 9:00 PM, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of C Morris Cain Place in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Evidence of gunfire was located and officers were able to determine that a woman had fired a gunshot before fleeing the area. A description was provided to all officers.
On the next day at 7:25 AM, officers located 30 year old Kasheemah Valentine in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. Valentine matched the exact description to the shooting suspect. As the officers attempted to speak with Valentine, she fled on foot. While running, she removed a handgun from her waistband. Valentine threw the handgun onto Atlantic Avenue and it was quickly recovered. Valentine was ultimately arrested.
